Where were you when you first learned about Funko? Not “learned about” like you were in school but discovered the company or saw and even purchased, your first Funko collectible?
I’m sad to say, I committed the biggest Funko discovery crime and continue to kick myself for doing so.
Jon and I went to SDCC for the first time in 2011 and walked into (when you still could easily walk into) the Funko booth.
I tried to convince Jon to get the Flocked Chewbacca for his desk at work, all while holding the metallic Captain America. We were new to the con-scene and unfamiliar with most collectibles outside of comics and trading cards.
We DID NOT buy the pops. I repeat, we DID NOT buy the pops … we have since purchased those two and more from that era after the fact. Sigh.
We still laugh and cry, mostly cry, about that day. What about you? Where were you when Funko came into your life?
