I like to think about the first time I met Chris Evans. The opportunity was given to me as a gift from Jon for my birthday. Chris was appearing at Salt Lake City Comic Con in 2015 and I absolutely wanted to go. Jon made that happen!

I didn’t know what to expect. I had interviewed celebrities before but that was for work. This was for me and I’m a huge, huge fan of his, even before he became Captain America on the big screen.

For those of you familiar with meeting celebrities at conventions, this was pretty typical. My photo session was in the evening of his first day at the show. I was freaking out but trying to keep it cool. I didn’t want to be “that fan” that got too shy or burst into uncontrollable tears of joy.

It was my turn next. I could see him standing with fans for photos behind the draped off space on the convention floor. The handler motioned me over. Chris smiled. I melted. I smiled back and gave a little wave. I said, “Hi, my name is Jason,” and he said, “I’m Chris.” I put my arm around him as he was saying this and I said, without thinking, “oh my, you’re solid.” He laughed! He took a second and said, “ok,”we took out picture and I was on my way. Unforgettable.

It’s true. He was very lean and solid and I said what I said! The next day was his main stage panel and my autograph session. I had him sign a Captain America poster from the Avengers Age of Ultron movie. It hangs as the centerpiece of my Pop Room with other original artwork.

It was a dream come true. Since then, I have met Chris Evans two additional times at two different ACE Comic Cons for photos and autographs. I have a couple signed movie photos and a Funko Pop. I know I’m one of a thousand people he meets at each show he does but it means the world to me and I’ll continue to meet each time I get. It’s just one of those things that I love to do!

Is there a celebrity: actor, musician or other, out thee that you’d love to meet or have meet and feel the same way I do about Chris Evans? Share your stories in the comments!
